Rob and I got back from our vacation to the US on Tuesday, August 16. It was great! We stayed at a resort in Branson and went to the theatre every night:
* The Cirque
* The Presleys
* Broadway
* Darren Romeo
* Showboat dinner theatre

We visited Silverdollar City - oldtime Main Street USA with shops, schools, churches that represent times in the early 1900s. People dressed in period costume demonstrated oldtime crafts such as weaving, blown glass, candy making, etc. There were lots of little theatres along the street with performers singing, dancing, doing tricks and telling jokes. This tourist attraction also had train rides, water fun and roller coaster rides along with two parades each day.
We met Meghan (Bruce and Rindy's daughter) there. She was a butterfly in the parade.

We went for a ride on the Ducks. These are big 40 passenger, amphibious vehicles that drive around town. The driver tells about the attractions in the area and explains a little of the history. The ride takes passengers for a cruise on the Tablerock lake before heading back to town.

We shopped! We rested! We sat by the pool! We ate out - Red Lobster, Olive Garden. Pasta Plus, Dinney's, Bob Evans, Tony Romas's

We plan to visit somewhere different next year but I'd recommend Branson to anyone.

Our community has a wetlands conservation area right in the middle of town. I am new at this but I am always willing to learn!
(Hey, does this blogger thing have spell check??)

I'd like to share a few interesting photographs and points about living in rural Newfoundland. I live by the sea so as far as I'm concerned I am doubly blessed.

Imagine having the following in your backyard:

*squirrels ( However, I have to admit, these little critters can be a nuisance. One got into my mother's house two summers ago. We had the devil of a time getting it out.)

*rabbits (They are less plentiful since the coyotes came to the area.)

*moose (They come from the bog at the back of our property. One took a liking to a few of my shrubs.)

*birds, birds and more birds (There is a family of swallows living in a birdhouse attached to our gazebo. It's wonderful to watch the caring parents work hard carrying food to their young chicks.)

A short stroll (three minutes) brings my hubby and I to a beautiful beach. The treasures there are countless. There is nothing better than a walk along the salty, breezy ocean to exercise your joints and clear your mind.

More to follow.......
